Staging Site

Wildwood resort (www.wildwood-resort.com) is located on the border of Texas & Louisiana about 50 miles south of I-20. Our large cabins – Conference Centers – Commercial Kitchens on our 80 acre site have served us well as a staging site for Hurricanes Rita in ’05 and again for Hurricane Ike in ’08. Wildwood is a full service staging site for up to 500 men and women. Not only is Wildwood an ideal staging site for coastal storms, but we are just south of the “ice belt” and are prepared to assist with ice storms. We are proud to refer to a letter of Recommendation from CLECO’s President attesting to our successful response in these emergencies: “I would like to recommend Randy Ziegler, his family and their entire staff at Wildwood Resort for their assistance to CLECO and it’s customers during the restoration efforts following Hurricane Rita in 2005 and Hurricane Ike in 2008. Wildwood has proven to be an optimal location for CLECO’s “staging area” in our western and north western territories of Louisiana. Wildwood also housed and catered hundreds of tree trimmers, linemen, etc. during the restoration, as well as catered all three meals per day to all these men and women for several weeks continuously on each occasion. We appreciate the working relationship we have formed over the past several years. I would like to recommend Wildwood Resort and the Zieglers to our neighboring utilities for assistance following a disaster, such as the hurricane restorations in which we partnered. Michael H. Madison, President”
